Question: Why is this thirty minute video filmed on a JVC Everio HDD camcorder so freakin huge? 2.2 gigabytes! (help!)?
Ok, so, I have a JVC Everio GZ-MG130U HDD camcorder, which records to .MOD files. I already know how to change the .MOD extension to something else (like .wmv) for editing, but that isn't the problem. Even after I do that, I cannot even upload the smaller videos to the internet without it taking a ridiculous amount of time. Currently, I am trying to send a thirty-minute video blog to my friend. First, I tried Skype, where it says "0% uploaded; 24 hours remaining" and THAT wasn't worth it. Then I tried attaching it to an email on yahoo. That was two hours ago. It still says "attaching file" or whatever. That's when I noticed the thing is 2.2 freaking gigabytes! WHY is the file so huge? I don't know much about file size but I really didn't think a thirty minute video would be so huge. Help! Is there any way to compress it or something? Or maybe convert it to another format? I dunno..but I need help.
Answer: I use an earlier model GZ-MG27 and I share your pain.
Videos are very memory hungry. The video data taken your JVC camcorder has a picture quality equivalent to 200Kb per image. An half-hr video has 1800 seconds, each second contains about 25 images. It will therefore occupy 9Gb of memory space.
To save memory for easy transfer, you can convert the video into lower resolution (eg. MPEG-4 160 x 120) using the Capty MPEG Edit software that comes with the camcorder. Even so, I normally ended up sending my friends the whole CD containing those megabytes files.

Question: How do I put videos from my HDD camcorder on the computer?I have a JVC Everio. I recorded videos on my hardrive and now am I want to put it into the CPU. I have the camera in my dock and connected the USB cable. I have tried to "Create DVD" and all that stuff, but I do not understand what in the files that show on my computer screen when I connect to the computer!
Answer: Try the "Import" function the included software. This will download to your computer when you specify where you want to go there. Good luck.

Question: How do you get others to view your web cam without specifically inviting them?
I'm new to the web cam stuff and not real familiar on how to work it. I want it to where when I sign in, it will state "view my web cam" on people's messenger list. And is there a way I can do that just for a few contacts of mine without specifically inviting them?
Answer: Go to>>preferences>>web cam>> see the "when someone tries to view my web cam? tick the button which says "always ask for my permission">> and un tick the check box which says "if I'm in the chat room, allow people in chat room to view my web cam"
this way you can allow only the persons you would like to view your web cam..
