Question: Can I use a reversing ring on the Nikkor 18-55G VR?

I’d like to try it for macro work as opposed to buying a dedicated macro lens. Or is a fixed lens more appropriate, like the 50mm 1.8?
Yes,I know i’ll have to manual focus- but I guess I’d be stuck at f22 or seomething, right?

Answer: In the days before AutoFocus lenses came along, using a reverse ring, was an excellent way for 1:1 macro

But now with auto focus lenses, you will be able to use a reverse ring only in the manual mode for focus.

But what about aperture?????

Hope that helps

Question: Can I use a ring with a reverse zoom for macro work?

or is it better with a first? Obviously I can not use a G-type Nikkor no aperture ring. But how can zoom affect what I do?

Answer: Why waste your money on a ring of reverse? … Yes, you could do, but a simple extension tube (varying lengths will give you different macro and subjected to distance of target) will do better while having the ability to be used on other regardless of the size of glass lenses. I took shots with my 600mm macro with a simple extension tube and the nice thing about using a telephoto lens for macro work … you do not Spook your topic if it is a dragonfly or a frog or something like that.

Question: one of the sides of my garage has a drop cap or cover on it and the plywood from that side is rotten '.

the tiles are fine, but which side of the garage is rotted plywood about 4 inches up. there are no gutters on this box has never been. Can I replace the wood and renail that row of shinges to it or is there Another alternative cheap to fix it? Can I put my hand under the FOW first of herpes zoster (obviously where the wood has rotted the nails are no longer holding). on the other hand there is a lid on the plywood so that part is fine.

Answer: This is the roof over your head is talking. Do it right. Remove tiles replace one whole all the rotted plywood, using treated wood, Re-felt, and weave in new shingles, installation of drip board this time.
