Question: Have new Canon 400D (XTi) with kit lens & 10 yr old 50MM 1.8, 28-105 1:3.5-4.5 USM zoom. Need 17-85 IS zoom?
Got a Canon 400D (Rebel XTi) with kit lens since I had 3 Canon slrs before I went digitial with Sony cams 6 years ago and have several lenses not being used plus a 380 EX flash with E-TTL. My lens are a 10-year-old prime 50MM 1:1.8 lens plus a 10-year-old 28-105 1:3.5-4.5 USM zoom lens that work with the 400D. I am using the camera for general purpose photography -- parties, landscapes, events (parades not sports), urban shots, Christmas decor ,etc. Do I still need to acquire a zoom or other type of Canon lens with IS such as the EF-S 17-85 4-5.6 IS USM or 28-135 3.5-5.6 IS USM? Are these old lens better than the kit lens? Is the 380EX flash good enough or do I still have to buy the 430 EX?
Answer: I have the 28-135 IS lens and love it. The kit lens is decent for wide angle shots. The 17-85 is infinitely better but costs $$$. The only wider lens is the 10-22mm, which is around $680.
My only suggestion is try out what you have for now and upgrade if have a need. The 380EX may suit your needs, then again, it may not. I have a 580 which for me is total overkill, since I rarely shoot indoors. Don't waste money and buy something that you may not need. You may be better off getting a telephoto lens instead of the 28-135.
You'll start to reallize what your limitations are and where you want to upgrade. It's a learning process. (From experience, I know that I need a macro lens.)

Question: Im going to buy a flash for my Sony A200 DSLR, I need some tips and / or assist with the brands and models of .....?I need a flash for my Sony DSLR A200 and I need help choosing a good flash if possible a good TTL (intelligent) flash. my grand prize is $ 100-200 btw I've been Sunpak PZ42X looking at and I think its a good flash anyway plzz help me with some marks and (or) THX models.
Answer: Save a little more. Seriously, if you want a good flash for your Sony, you are looking at $ 225 or less, plus shipping. Only inflammation below the price that I would consider, and is $ 150. At the bottom of the list is the Sigma 530 DG ST, to $ 150. Rather limited in function, but powerful. Make sure you get the Sony version, obviously. Flash of choice would be the Metz 48 AF-1. It does everything that the Sony has 42, with more energy available. IF you can find it on sale, $ 200. If not, $ 225. This is the best bang for the buck is. The Sony 42 would be my second choice to Metz. The price is all over the place, ranging from $ 225 to $ 299. There are smaller units for less money, but would be better off with an old car with thyristor Flash adapter for Sony ... flashes There are cheap but not cheap flashes that are fully compatible with the TTL system from Sony.

Question: sidekick lx problem. plz help. its about the memory card?
so, the sidekick lx comes with s 128mb memory card, and as we all know, 128mb doesnt hold that much. so i bought a new memory card and replaced it.when i put the new memory card in, the memory card jsut wont lock in place, it just pops back out. i called T-mobile for help, and they said that i have broken the small lock mechanism inside the sidekick. they told me to call sharp tomorrow, the creator of sidekick. and all i want to know right now is:
-has anyone have the same problem as me?
-how much does it cost to fix this problem?
-and how long will it take?Answer: I have had the same problem, and after repositioning the card a few times, I was able to lock it in place. Try working with the card, and if in fact you didn't break the lock it should work.
