Question: When sending your pictures to modeling agencies through their website what kind of pictures do they want?
After researching and checking out different agencies webpages I noticed that most simply want a person to send an upclose of the face, a smile, and a full body shot, but my question is are they looking for professional photos are just simple polaroid style shots? I know the industry still uses polaroids so I am pretty sure they want these. Please, no information about what it takes to be a model, I already know all of this.
Answer: When you go to a brick and mortar agency it is common for them to take Polaroid or digital photos of you. They do this because you usually will bring in a portfolio of professional images. They use the Polaroids to gauge your looks, skills and attitude.
It doesn’t matter if you are sending in by email, website submission or snail mail check the companies’ requirements. If they list specific requests and you do not follow their directions usually your submission goes straight to the trash they will not contact you asking you to resubmit with proper files or info.
If they do not list then better to be safe. Some may want specific sizes; prints 4×6 up to 8×10. If digital it will be similar size at 300dpi. Make sure the photos are clear, well lit with no enhancements. While professional photos may look better often it is best to send a quality snapshot.
As a photographer I prefer a clear well lit snapshot over a professional photo and most agencies agree. Reason being a professional photographer’s job is to make the subject look their best or better than his/her best and it is not always obvious if the person in a photo is naturally beautiful or just worked with a great photographer. Whether professional or snapshots the standard is usually the same One head shot, one full body and one ¾ view.
Few last tips if submitting online name your files something where if they get moved around they still know it is you

Question: Which camera takes real pictures of people…Nikon?
I have an olympus digital camera. Pictures appear the person’s face is bigger than what you really see and the skin tone is not exact on the face.
Answer: You should check the settings. Make sure you aren’t zooming in or using an odd setting. Check the white balance and make sure it’s suitable for the cicrumstance (“sunny” for a sunny portrait outdoors, “night” for a low-light or night time image, etc). You cannot expect it to be an exact replica, either – human eyes work in different ways from camera lenses, hence the necessity of touching up and different settings.

Question: My Nikon Coolpix S550 has a lot of contrast?I have it today, opened it, charged the battery and tried it on the Auto mode and the Fine scenery, but it seems to be making everyone look like oompa Loompas (bright / orange-ish yellow skin tones), I read the manual and tried different modes and such, but I can not seem to get it right the lighting .. I know that was not the best camera, but my little sisters gun half the price and seems to be better than me. What the hell is there a problem?
Answer: 1, try a picture and see if the color is still here .. If it is, the camera back to reality … that computer monitors are set for the Internet, add color to everything on the Internet … often when You look at adapting an image on your monitor to the right, the pressure will be lousy.
