Question: Light Bulb Adapter ?

I am in desperate need of help. Recently I bought a new ceiling fan which had a light kit. Got it home, put it and realized it does not take regular size bulbs but intermediate size. Well I already have a bunch of regular size CFL’s and no way to use them.

I have looked all over the net and even asked my local lighting store as well as home depot and lowes if they have adapters that will change it from and intermediate (e17) to a medium/regular (e26) and there is nothing out there.

I need help as the fan is my only source of light in my lil apartment (and I mean little) and with out brighter bulbs my eyes and my head (from the low light headaches) are killing me.

I would really appreciate any help or suggestions.

Answer: There are adapters made. Primarily sold to the trade. However they are going to cost you over $4.00 each. Plus they will extend the lamp (bulb) an additional 2″ from the socket.

I think your best bet is to simply use intermediate base lamps.

I think, as the answer above me suggested, change out the light kit to a medium base unit is an option. But I don’t think the cost justifies it.

Another excellent place to find Cfl Bulb Kit is on Amazon… They have way more than just books!

Question: Is there a remote LightSWITCH for energy-saving light bulbs?

We are making a living wearing a CFL – lamp compact fluorescent, and I was wondering if there is a remote control LightSWITCH. In my room I have a remote control / touch-sensitive dimmer switch but do not work with CFL. (I I do not want adapters, kits home automation or remote sockets. Only LightSWITCH) So far the response has been appropriate but not ideal, I just want Lazy Boy type Remote-a LightSWITCH. Adapters and converters do not use much, you have to fit into a new standard in the box and be compatible with normal CFLs. I should also mention that I live in the United Kingdom (for electrical connections, etc. .. delivry)

Answer: Remote Control energy saving lamp / bulb / Light / tube http://www.fuzing.com/qrx/remote-controlled-light
