Question: opening a photo studio?
I’ve been making professional quality photographs for my family and friends. I’d like to take it to the next level and make a few bucks out of my work. I’d like to open a photo studio. What do i need as far as licensing, and copyrights. I have all the equipment, I just need to know what I need to get my business going.
Answer: You need to get a business license from the city you intend to do business in, you need a resale permit that allows you to buy wholesale and sale retail and unfortunately charge sales tax. The copyrights are automatic if you are a professional photographer. Read my profile, I have done this for over 22 years, goodluck.

Question: A dream of a photo studio – where would we get started? We dream of beginning a photographic studio. Where would we begin? I make a list of everything that we need …. we have the space for which there is currently to run it from the garage, is it so easy to get it right. We must Digital SLRs (I have an SLR, but it is film, so that's not good.) We need photo-editing equipment that we have, and the proper Processing with the computer programs (also). As usual, and Where do we go next?
Answer: You need studio lights (think ebay, there are some nice where it is) at a reasonable price, such as triflectors reflectors, diffusers and add-ons, so you can "model" the light, focus, soft, etc. Also make a decent / supporting stand but ideally easy, fast and easy to use + scenery and props. Together with your DSLR lenses, and you need the appropriate media cards … you'll be set. I would also consider an education – it's worth very quickly and you save a lot of time. The commercial standard work, you need to calibrate and profile your camera, monitor and printer … so you can properly manage your quality of results … and how this process is completed and used properly.
