Question: sony alpha a100k?
When setting up my camera manually adjusting the shutter speed to its highest, i take a photo and it comes up blank, even in bright weather?
Any ideas on settings that i may have got wrong?
Hi thanks everyone how do you change the iso setting? When setting the shutter speed manually i am scrolling to 200, sometimes 2000. what iso setting does that need? soz but im terrible with camerasAnswer: Correct exposure is a combination of light, aperture, shutter speed and ISO. When using natural light or flash you have three variables – ISO, shutter speed and f-stop. Once you have selected an ISO (it should be 100 or 200 for outdoors) you are reduced to two variables – aperture and shutter speed.
The aperture – aka f-stop – controls the amount of light admitted by the lens. A large f-stop such as f1.4 or f1.7 admits all the available light; a small aperture such as f11 or f16 admits very little light.
The shutter controls how long the light admitted by the lens is allowed to expose our film or sensor to produce a correct exposure. The more light admitted the shorter (faster) your shutter speed. As less light is admitted when we “stop down” from f1.7 to f8 to f11 the longer our shutter has to stay open to correctly expose our film or sensor.
This example is hypothetical and for illustration only to show the aperture-shutter speed relationship with constant lighting and ISO. Lets use ISO 100 on a sunny day.
f1.7 @ 1/1000 sec.
f2 @ 1/500 sec.
f2.8 @ 1/250 sec.
f4 @ 1/125 sec.
f5.6 @ 1/60 sec.
f8 @ 1/30 sec.
f11 @ 1/15 sec.
f16 @ 1/8 sec.(NOTE: All 8 of the exposures would be identical. The only change we’d notice would be more depth of field beginning at f4 and better image quality beginning at f5.6 – lenses are designed to give their best performance at between f5.6 and f11).
As we stop down and admit less light our shutter speed gets longer. Each f-stop admits 1/2 as much light as the one preceding it – f2 admits 1/2 as much light as f1.7; f2.8 admits 1/2 as much light as f2, etc.
Perhaps this will clarify the concept. Suppose we can assign a value to our light and that value happens to be 10,000.
f1.7 = 10,000
f2 = 5,000
f2.8 = 2,500
f4 = 1,250
f5.6 = 625
f8 = 312.5
f11 = 156.25
f16 = 78.125Now you need to seriously READ & STUDY the Owner’s Manual for your camera. Your camera has a built-in light meter so you need to learn to use it, especially in Manual Mode.

Question: How do you change the settings of a Sony Alpha 200?What I'm wanting to do is be able to watch the screen at the back of the camera to set up a shot, instead of having to look through the eyepiece the whole time. This is possible on this camera? Cheers.
Answer: That is called Live View and Model A230 and A200 do not have it. Hey I had the A200 and even without live view I am happy with the results. There are pros and cons of Live View. LCD uses the power and then drains the battery. Using allocated for travel makes shooting soon. Yes, but usually you can concentrate a bit 'better Live view. Oh well I'm used to him looking through the viewfinder, is more or less like an old film SLR. If you really need to upgrade to A300 or better:)

Question: You can pay with a Car Charger?I felt that he could because he had electricity, but it seemed stupid to me. Of course I know anything about welding and so on. Im trying to learn, but dont really have the money to an arc welding machine and I really think this is true:]. Thank you!
Answer: A welder power wire uses 110 voltage. And there are conversion kits that you can put on a battery to run 110 sets of tension as instruments. I have not tried, but would be interested to know if a welder power wire would work. I'm not sure of an arc welder can do that because using more tension.
