Question: new vs refurbished Olympus camera?
i’ve decided its time to try another camera seeing as i murder them and my cousins Olympus tough has survived his 2-year-old so i found it on sale at Wal-mart or on ebay i can get a refurbished one w/ 3 month warranty pluse memory card, case, tripod, extra battery, card reader, and lens cleaning kit for still 20 bucks cheaper. ive had a refurbished i pod before worked great and is now living a happy life w/ a friend after 3 years of my using of it.but not sure about the camera.
the camera retails for about 279 on ebay i can get it just the camera refurbished for 179 at wal-mart its 219 on sale just the camera but i can get it w/ the extras refurbished 194Answer: Refurbished means it was sold & then sent back to the factory for one reason or another. It may have been defective, or the person just changed his / her mind and nothing at all was wrong with it. The problem here is we never know why.
If there’s only a $20 difference in price, I’d buy new. Then you’ll get a year warranty & know no one else has had the camera. It’d have to be $100 cheaper for me to buy a refurb.

Question: Olympus E500 or Canon Rebel XT (350D)?I'm torn between the Olympus E-500 and Canon 350D. Olympus comes with 2 lenses, great reviews on the Internet, the ultrasonic sensor cleaner, excellent kit lenses, but no image stabilization. Canon's reputation is legendary, excellent reviews for the 350D, no specific sensor, the kit lens seems to be a waste. An image stabilized zoom costs minimum target $ 400. So what will it be? Someone has opinions?
Answer: Personally, I would stay distance sensors mechanically fixed for any reason. The anti-dust features and the image stabilization of some of these cameras are a marketing tool to lead the unknowing consumers that these companies have lost the megapixel wars. Then they took a proven design and true and changed into a bad one. Any mechanical device is prone to failure. The faster it moves the more it wears. The more it is used, the more it wears. Mechanisms shutter SLR digital cameras have been around for 50 + years and have a proven design and are reliable because of all the improvements made over time. But these eventually wear out and have a limited life expectancy. The Canon 5D has a life expectancy 100000 shares. I have not yet seen life expectancy spec'ed on any of these new sensor systems installation. Yes, image stabilization in the lens as is done by Canon and Nikon adds to the expense of a goal, but if the image stabilization system goes wrong, you can still use the lens without the stabilizer or put a different perspective. If the internal stabilizer becomes ill, no camera plus a charge for the repair Big, End of photo shoot. I still believe in the old axiom: KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid).

Question: Where can I find a special "filter" 37mm to 25mm adapter?I'm about to buy a Sony HD SR11 I understand camcorder has a 37mm lens. I'll be recording in a microscope that has a connection to the camera of 25 mm or outside of the rim, and the camcorder has 37mm inside. I found an adapter from 25mm to 37mm, but is reversed. I'm new to this material, so do not know much, but I would need something like this, but in reverse: http://www.sourcingmap.com/camera-lens-filter-step-ring-25mm37mm-silver-p-11462.html
Answer: You need s ring step by step "steps" up or down a filter thread size to another. Companies like Jessops make them – or any major online photo business.
