this is the first time i ever got a camera. i just got it a couple of days ago, and the battery’s emptied.everytime i plugged in the usb cord and click on the pc thing, all it does is say wait a moment and then the little light thing is green.i dont know if it’s charging, because after and hour or two, i unplug it, and the camera still wont turn on, saying that the battery is emptied.i stayed up last night till 11:30 trying to get it to “charge” and im thinking about replacing the camera if i cant use the usb to charge, because i dont like the idea of changing batteries every day.

Answer: No dedicated point and shoot camera charges through the USB cable. If it uses a proprietary battery you need to take the battery out of the camera and put it in the charger. If it uses AA batteries you need to take the batteries out of the camera to charge or replace them.

That’s the way it goes. You can buy a charger for under $20. I don’t understand how changing batteries can be so bothersome. Keep two sets of batteries if you don’t like waiting.

Question: How do I download pictures from my digital camera when I lost the USB cable?

I an Olympus Stylus 780 and I lost the USB cable to connect it to the computer. Are there any stores that sell a cable replacement? Or is there some something I can use to connect the memory card directly to the computer, I have an Olympus xD-Picture card. I do not buy this line, please buy a replacement cord or a memory card reader in a store. Ideas?

Answer: You can probably find a used one for $ 2. any repair shop computer.
