Answer: It should, but I haven’t tried it myself. This is an optical slave unit that is supposed to be able to sync to any built-in flash, including the one in your Canon.

You could also look for the “YN-460″ flash, which also has the optical slave and full manual power control, which is what you need to control the flash off camera. Otherwise, it will fire at full power.

Question: Color problems with photographs of paintings?

I have a 6.0 megapixel Canon PowerShot S3 IS. I noticed a problem when I photograph paintings with large areas of red – the reds tend to look a little orange, and if there are small differences in shade/hue those small details end up blending in together. I use a polarizer filter, and have tried all the color setting on the camera.

Has anyone had the same problem and knows how to fix it?
I have PhotoShop, but it’s pretty useless when the original photograph lacks proper color details.

Answer: Forget the polarizer, your issues lie elsewhere.

Profile your camera, meter lighting to ensure it is consistent, record a grey card… then process your shots on a profiled system. A colorimeter would be useful too.

… after that it will depend if the colours you are trying to record fit in the working space and output space you are aiming for.

Question: How do you keep your cool mist humidifier to become funky?

How do you keep your cool mist humidifier to obtain funky? I can not find a link to what we have, but it was like $ 20 at Wal-Mart, has a reservoir that fills up and the load on the top and let the water run down in this thing resivoir and then a towel as a filter goes in the back. We use it everynight, the only time that water sits during the day, and we fill the tank usually takes place after 3 nights of use. I noticed recently that the water becomes a yellow-orange (so I took the tray and filter, and rinsed them off) and last night made my daughter's room as the smell of mildew. What am I doing wrong? I have a new filter I'm going to put in and clean the tray again, but with what else? for the advice of all. Somehow our instruction manual has been lost!

Answer: I'm sure I have the same. This is a white and pulls the top of the base to fill it. We keep our running constantly the lowest setting, even when we're home. We change the water every night, although there is still a reservoir of about 1 / 4 left on it. We also change the filter every two weeks. The filter looks pretty bad for the moment change it, but do not get a smell. I read the instructions that are supposed to clean all parts with a mixture of vinegar and water once a week. I have done, but can not work. Do you have well water, perhaps?
