Question: If you could buy just one lens for your digital Canon SLR what would it be?
I have a Canon Digital Rebel and currently own the 100mm USM f 2.8 and a 75-300 lens. I may be looking for another. Just curious about what lenses others love.
Answer: Canon have several nice lenses..it’s so hard to choose.
However, I think you should go for a wider lens next time…In the EF-S lenses, I like the 10-22mm f3.5-4.5 USM
and the new 17-55mm f2.8 IS USMOr the EF 24-105mm f4L IS USM…”it is one of the best and most popular Canon general purpose lenses made”.
A perfect walkaround lens.

Question: What camera lens should I buy?Hello, I have a Canon Rebel XS (digital SLR) and I want to buy a new target for it. At the moment I am a 18-55mm IS lens, image stabilizer really help me. I'm deciding whether to get a Canon EF 70-300mm IS USM, a Canon EF-S 60mm Macro USM or a Canon EF 100 millimeters Macro USM. I can not afford the EF 180 millimeters macro lens. At the moment I'm taking pictures of flowers nearby, Portrait, and Night little things. Also, I took some landscape shots, but I'm not very good at capturing the best from the point of view. With a new camera lens I want to be able to blur the background better, especially for portraits and close-ups. I think if I get a macro lens (I think it is the best choice for my type of photography), I'll buying a tripod because macro lenses have image stabilizer, this is not a problem. Just asking that the lenses should have, and the differences between a 60 millimeters and 100 millimeters macro lens. Thanks:)
Answer: From your description of what you like to photograph – flowers up close and small things – one of the macro lens would be the best choice. With the macro you at a distance of 100 millimeters more work from the subject and this is particularly suitable for bees or wasps. Another thing to consider is that the EF-S 60mm can not be used on a full-frame Canon DSLR you should ever decide to upgrade. With 100mm lens will have no problem getting a blurred background. The effective period is Depth of Field (DOF) and is a product of three factors: 1) The focal length lens. 2) The f-stop used. 3) distance of the subject. http://www.flickr.com/photos/drifter45h/2364791076/ 100 millimeters macro lens at F11. This site will help you understand better DOF: http://www.dofmaster.com/dofjs. html After reading the explanation of DOF you can use the calculator to calculate DOF DOF for any combination of length focal length, f-stop and the distance of the subject you can imagine. Since you can choose your camera make and model results are accurate, because each information gathered is taken into account. Most people assume that when shooting a landscape, the focus should be infinity, but that does not always maximize the DOF. Using the DOF Calculator allows you to watch 18 millimeters at the end of 18-55mm lens. 18 millimeters @ F16 targeted 0''DOF is 5'-2'-1''all'infinito. Nothing to 2'-1''in front of the camera as fas as you can see – finally – will be in focus. 18 millimeters @ F16 focused to infinity DOF id from 3'-5''all'infinito. Nothing to 3'-5''di front of the camera as you can see – finally – will be in focus, but lose 1'-4''del our DOF. If you want to include a clump of flowers or other interesting subjects we will be farther back. http://www.flickr.com/photos/drifter45h/3991210245/ Here I used a lens of 21 millimeters on a 35mm film camera. F16 and targeted 6'-0'', obtaining a DOF from 2'-2''a infinite. You are smart to buy a tripod. The more you use your photograph will be better. If you want to do night scenes of this site will guide you: http://www.calculator.org/exposure.aspx Just choose a scene and an ISO and when you click on Calculate get a list of combinations of speed f-stop/shutter. I used 'skyline of the city in terms away 'and ISO 200 for them. Http: / / www.flickr.com/photos/drifter45h/4048796836/ 200mm lens, F11 @ 30 seconds. Question: What am I doing wrong?I received a Canon EOS Rebel T1i SLR camera for Christmas and I have problems with image magnification. When zoom in, as far as I can and take the picture, what I see in the viewfinder, when I take the picture is not how the picture turns off eventually. It is well focused, but not close enough. Please help.
Answer: Your auto focus turned on? The switch is located on the side of the lens. A another thought. I have a Rebel XS using 7 points of focus. However, I use only one of them, because I always end up the subject out of focus because the camera likes to grab Even the closest thing in this case. Read your manual, you will learn what setting to change the points of focus if you want.
