Question: Is normal 8mm or 35mm film sensitive to infrared light?

I was wondering if i could use night vision goggles, which work by infrared light, to help me in the darkroom changing film. would shining infrared light on this film ruin it like all visible, normal light?
what effect would it have on photo paper?

Answer: No infra red won’t hurt panchromatic film. It is not sensitive to the infrared spectrum. E6 labs use night goggles and infra red lights in their processing rooms all the time.

Much less trouble in the longrun though, is to learn to load the reels in total darkness.

Another excellent place to find Infrared Film is on Amazon… They have way more than just books!
