Question: Can I get a 50mm lens for a Point and Shoot Sony Cybershot 7.2mp Model DSC-H5?
I was wondering if I can buy a lens that will give me non-blurry up close tight shots without blurring the photo? Can you even get lenses for Point and Shoot cameras as opposed to SLR cameras? I’ve been told that you can’t put new lenses on my camera but there’s an option on my camera for “lenses”. I’m confused. Everytime I try to zoom in close on my 6 month old son, it blurs. It gets very frustrating.
Any help for me? If you can get lenses, where can I get them? If not, why does my camera have an option for lenses under the menu options?
Answer: With a lot of point & shoot cameras you can get up to three kinds of attachment lenses:
* wide angle extenders
* tele-extenders
* macro adaptors (this is the one you’re thinking of getting)
The thing is, you shouldn’t need any of those add-ons to take shots of your baby. If you’re getting so close that the camera can’t focus by itself, you’re TOO close for portraits! Macro lenses are made to take pictures of tiny objects, like flowers and jewelery. If you used it as a portrait lens, the picture would come out terribly distorted. Instead, use the normal lens and keep a few feet distance. Zoom in if you want to.

Question: Advice and parts for a sony cybershot digital camera?
My son pushed the lens closed on my sony cybershot camera and not it will not open when the power is turned on. I started to take it apart to look at it but it gets pretty intricate. A local camera shop wants at least $160 to take a look, maybe more for repair. does anyone have any idea if this is something i can fix by myself, and if there are parts available online? Or am i out of luck and just need to buy a new camera?
Answer: I dropped my precious cybershot at a concert and the same thing happened – the lens jammed. I took it to Wolf Camera and the said the same thing – $160 to just see what was wrong – then parts etc. I went to Bestbuy and looked at what a new camera cost and ended up buying it instead because my camera was 3 years old. it kills me that this is such planned obsolesce. It really depends on how much you want to save – for me the $75 saved on fixing didn’t match getting a brand new one with improved features. You can also call Sony and they can help you directly. They are not so nice, but you could try.

Question: where can i buy Kodak PolyMax??PHOTOGRAM PAPER?
Do you know any stores in Los Angeles or Hollywood that sell
“ILFORD MULTIGRADE 1V DELUXE”??? (8X10) GLOSSY?
OR
“KODAK POLYCONSTRAST OR KODAK POLYMAX”???DO YOU KNOW ANY STORES AROUND LOS ANGELES THAT SELL THE PAPER 2 MAKE A PHOTOGRAM??
Answer: Take care with caps lock. An all caps text is harder to read and looks like you were shouting.
Kodak discontinued it’s paper line long ago, around 2005. If you find polymax it may be new old stock or in ebay.
Ilford paper is no problem, still being manufactured.The most known store in the LA area is Freestyle (freestyle.biz), they sell anything you want and you can mail order or order online.

Question: I need help with headshots. if i want to make copies of mine should i make them on matte paper or kodak glossy?
oh ok. but what do the agents prefer? I have to send them out and i want to know do they care if it says kodak on the back or is matte paper better? what will make a better impression?
i’m going to send out to a bunch of agents so i guess every specific one wants something elseAnswer: isnt that a question for the agents you plan on contacting?
attention to detail is important. I once saw a very well known agency require a red star in the bottom left corner of the envelope. every submittal without the star went in the trash… unopened. there is more to modeling than a pretty face.
