I want a camera that i can take snorkeling so i can take some good pictures of fish. Question: Is there a DSLR camera, the examples listed above are under water and water that is under $ 1,000 without housing?

Answer: Not that I've heard, but there is a point and shoot that can. Olympus 1030SW can go up to 33 'down (good for snorkeling and swimming pools). I am planning a few times. I have seen images of all the earlier model 850SW th and they are nice, Oh it's a 10megapixel camera.
