Question: Best DSLR camera, preferably under $500?

I am going to college in the fall so I can’t afford anything that’s too pricey. This will be my first DSLR… I’ve always had point-and-shoot cameras. I want to settle with the lenses that come with the camera. I’m don’t want to pursue photography as a career… it’s just a hobby but I want to be able to take beautiful, professional-looking photos while I’m traveling or photographing events. I don’t want to carry around a tripod. Good zoom would be nice… macro would be cool too but it’s not so important. I want to be able to take photos at night, portraits, and action shots. I’m looking into the Nikon D40 but I hear doesn’t have image stabilization? How important is this… especially if I’m not gonna use a tripod? I kinda shake when I hold the camera… but the photos I take usually come out fine if I don’t zoom in too close… however my current camera (Sony) does have image stabilization. How does Canon, Nikon, Sony, and Olympus compare? And which is the best, in your opinion?

Question: Taking Pictures of Horses?

I go to a horse show tomorrow with my Sony A300 and two lenses: a 18-70mm [which I probably do not use much] and a 75-300mm. I have a 60-inch tripod that I intend to use. This is my first time with a camera seriously trying to take pictures. Will be open. Any suggestions on how shutter speed / anything else I should know? =) I'm worried about losing shots using the tripod or getting shots tarnished by groped to move and to follow the action. I really do not want to use the flash, but it would make a big difference, I will. I just need a lot of advice. I'm an International Andalusian and Lusitano recognized show tomorrow – I'm going to classes that cover most flat. I think the best thing to do would just choose a place on the fence and focus on that, and then just keep shooting constantly, like the horse passes. Thanks to all – I practiced on birds and stuff around my garden and plan to shoot at a shutter speed of 1/4000th with ISO 800. Does that sound good?

Answer: If your shutter speed is FAST, blurred images so it should not be a problem. I'm an armature and some of my best shots were with an old instamatic as a child / young adult. I really miss it (Kid's ride on a trail about 24 years ago and dropped off a cliff, when he recovered, it was beyond repair.). I then moved to a falutin High Minolta lenses with all the Shootin 'meeting. Then to my current Cyber Shot (Just a 3X), but they still managed to get some good action shots. I believe that with Andalusians and Lusitanos that your best shots will be hit SIDE, for Quarter Horses, I try to shoot them from the point of their side, other breeds such as Arabs, they shoot from the point of shoulder and so on. I take the camera tri pod and shoot the pictures holding the camera so as not to miss any great shots. Best of luck.

Question: What protects against dropping the iPod Touch more? Silicon, hard plastic / hard skin or leather? ?

the type of material protected dropping ur ipod touch anymore? Silicon, hard plastic or leather? I doubt their leather, but ill put them here to see wat people say.

Answer: Okay, my research ive done and here is what to do with comp .. Silicon Silicon .- protects against scratches on contact and drop. It does not protect against pressure sores. Even with a silicon case that really annoying, to lift them out and put it in my pocket / othe rplace for the silicon sticks and wont slide. Also Arent silicon cases very narrow, so dirt / dust build up other matericals and end up scratching your iPod touch. Overall, I say, silicon is not a very good choice … Leder-haha well it looks nice could, and protect your case … Leather Hard Plastic never really explored, your best bet! Comes in great colors and protect them from all harm. For fall, would Leather worn out, and silicon cannot protection against pressure sores. How hard plastic can do practically anything to protect them, my recommendation is the iclear. A little pricy, but it worth protecting
