its not going to be used for anything other than servalence cameras.that dont take much processing power.and i know its old,i just have a usb.no FW HD ...so any usb install tuts would be awesome
and when i boot with OPT key nothing shows up at allAnswer: Don't bother. iMac G3s are very old and pretty darned slow by modern standards. You can technically boot from USB, but it's not advised. You'd be better off getting ahold of an external Firewire drive (assuming it has Firewire) and using that instead.

Question: How can I create a drive with a shortcut to the desktop when Windows it mounts?I try my USB flash drive to say, and external hard drives, in order to mount on the desktop. I want them in a file on the peaks, and then this file if the device is disconnected from the network create deleted. This is similar to the way point to Linux and Mac file systems. Any ideas? I have desktop media, but they put the name label and the drive letter.
Answer: you can not do that in the windows. Once you mount the drive and drag a shortcut or mapped link On the desktop, it says, even if the drive is removed or the connection is closed. The only part that dynamic is the part that actually shows the Windows Explorer the drives when they become available. The most you can do is create the shortcut on the desktop and leave it there, unless you want to Add and remove them all the time. Good Luck Keith Mitchell, server engineer, Hostmysite.com
