Why do most people buy Sony digital cameras? Are they any good?Actual experience with the different brands preferred.
Answer: I like Canon the best...they are always improving upon reducing noise. Canon and Nikon have the best image quality.
I have no experience with Fujifilm, but I love them as a film company...I use their Velvia 100 a lot.Sony is marketed to the masses and, as a result, you pay a premium for mostly just their brand-name. Sony tends to put a lot of bells and whistles into their products, but the thing I really hate is their proprietary hardware, which makes it more expensive and often inconvenient for the customer. Their cameras tend to become 'obsolete' very fast.

Question: good camera for a beginner to take quality photos of the family?I have a 16 months and I'm expecting our second. we upgrade our camera. I take pictures of my daughters and family time. I need something that is fast and I can snap away (its soooo make it difficult to sit still for more than a second lol) We live in the PNW and we are very active and love to enjoy our pool, so that the camera can be used for that. I am looking for Nikon, Canon, Sony, but do not know what to go with. We're going to look in some shops to try the cameras in person. Please give me some suggestions and what model
Answer: You are one the right way. By all means, go run some models and see how they feel. The model of entry-level digital SLR from a company that you will be fine. If a seller tries to high pressure, it is very likely to get a commission larger on a particular model. Then do a little 'of homework before you visit so that will already be in baseball field. Oly has a slightly smaller sensor, with a little 'higher level of noise (much better than any P & S camera, however), Nikon and Canon are both great, with accessories longer available, but all have more stuff most people will ever need or use. The entry level Nikon D40 and D60 should have the focus motor built the goal to integrate fully with the camera body. . Unless you have a group of elderly nikor slow this should not be a deal breaker, as all the new DX lenses will work properly. Sony took over Minolta, another good name of the camera. You can compare the features and specifications at www.dpreview.com. Sure read the manual (very!) To get the best from your new camera. Good luck and happy shooting.
