Question: Which is the better photo printer?

I have been doing a little research and (I think) I have narrowed my printer search down to two. I am considering buying either the Canon Pixma Pro9000 or the Epson Stylus Photo R1900. I know the Epson uses pigment ink which is supposed to be better, but which of the two will give me the better final result?
Note: I plan on printing both b&w and color.

Answer: Epson, hands down..! Especially with the pigmented inks.

I use a 7600 Epson, 24″ wide format & roll printer. It has 3 years of semi heavy duty. It has nor skipped a beat or given me probs other than “pilot errors”..

Some of my work has hung in a few galleries here in Tucson and much more in homes and a few businesses. Not a one has faded and still look as bright and crisp as the day they came off the printer. Plus Epson has some mighty fine papers compared to others. However, Kelly Papers have some mighty fine papers too, especially their 10 mil high gloss and the $$ are very fair.

Google CIS – Continuous Inking Systems – and bulk inks dot com for refills and bulk inks as well…

Go Epson, ya can’t go wrong..

Bob – Tucson

Question: Canon PIXMA iP4500 or Epson Stylus Photo R360?

Which is better? (I want it mainly for the printing of the disc)

Answer: I prefer Canon printers and have had excellent service from them. Also used one til I absolutely had to get another printer. Then bought another Canon. I have a iP4500

First, let”s start by searching Ebay for Compact Flash Microdrive:

[phpbay]Compact Flash Microdrive, 85, “18866″[/phpbay]

Question: Is a Compact Flash the same as a Microdrive?

Answer: the first answer “is” correct.
there are more important differences.
as i understand it the microdrive uses more power so may not be the best option. this is due to it’s mechanical operation. this would drain your battery faster and heat up your camera more. (my konica minolta A2 gets pretty hot as it is, especially if anti shake is turned on) another thing to bear in mind is, that since the microdrive is like a small hard drive it will be more fragile than flash memory. there is another difference which applies to cf and probably microdrive, and that is size there have been two. type 1 and type 2. type 1 is thicker than type2, so will not fit a type 2 slot. although it’s ok the other way round (as far as i know). minolta used to market an adaptor that allowed you to use sd cards. but since they quit the camera scene i’ve not seen it. i have just ordered an adaptor from maplin that i hope is suitable for this as everything else i have uses sd. if you would like to know about this, give it a week or so and post a q about it. that will give me a chance to try it out in my camera, when it arrives of course. then i’ll have an answer for you.
hope this has been of some help!

Question: What is an ultra compact flash II Microdrive?

Answer: Microdrive is basically a hard disk, a 1-inch miniature hard drive, which was initially made by IBM to fit in a Type II Compact Flash card. Since until about a year ago, flash memory is face, it was a cheap alternative to high-capacity flash-based cards regular CF. cheap some advantages: (a Flash based) and high capacity (you can find size 8 GB capacity) Some Cons: It is prone to data loss and damage to the hard drive it is based. Need more power, and therefore not all cameras or devices with the CF card, accept these Microdrives, and also for devices that accept the present, the battery will burn faster. Conclusion: Nowadays, with flash-based prices to fall, and increase capacity, are more preferred than the Micro-Drives, unless you need huge memory for a lower price (which those based on Flash).
