Question: What equipment would you recommend for a beginning photographer?
All I have is a 35mm SLR and plans to buy a digital. What would you say is the essential equipment needed to begin? I’m looking at a set of reflectors, a diffuser, filters, and flash. I already have a good tripod.
Answer: Unless you are planning to set up a studio you can forget everything but maybe an on-camera flash unit that will be compatible with the digital camera you eventually buy that will use all the lenses on your 35mm SLR. Also a portable reflector like the Photoflex “LiteDisk” might come in handy on outdoor shoots.
If you do decide to put together a studio you may save some time, frustration and money by making it portable and using “hot” lights thus avoiding the purchase of “studio” flash units.
Here is what I have and it cost me under $200. A Savage portable background stand ($100), a Lowel Tota-light ($40 used and it came with the lamp and has barndoors), a light stand ($2 at a garage sale), a white Lowel umbrella ($25 new), various colors of yardage in 4 yard lengths from the bargain table at a local yardage store ($1 a yard).
The Tota-light is what the TV stations use when they are doing interviews in peoples homes and is very small and portable. Tota-light makes a Tota-frame for 10”x12” gels (under $30) if you want to do theatrical lighting at some point.

Question: Buying digital camera filters on eBay?I bought a Nikon digital SLR d80.67mm. im still playing with it, but I more than that I do mess it up, blocking the usual and take pictures or fast enough. please help me by telling me that the best setting is that I can put my camera for the best portraits.and what you think about this type of camera? I also bought some filters for the camera on eBay. These filters are softtone, speaker, vised. ACE brand. I took pictures with these filters and still cannot tell the difference, what am I doing wrong? or is the filter itself? I need to set my camera on some kind of setting to make these images look right? Please help me with everything is possible and what we know, thanks u, ii take pictures without flash Get this picture blurry. and appears even yellow. What can I do to help this?
Answer: That's a lot of questions, but too late and I can not sleep, so here goes. Q i bought a Nikon D80 digital SLR … it wont take pictures or fast enough. A The D80 is a great camera, as dpreview.com, Digicams Steve, and any other site review reputation confirm. To accelerate the image-to-now, you can put the D80 in continuous shooting. In this way it will 3 pictures per second until the shutter button is kept pressed. Without the flash, that is. If you're using the flash, the flash itself takes several seconds to recharge. Is can speed up the flash time, investing in an external flash – Nikon makes some of those really nice, but it will never be the fastest shooting without flash. D. What the best setting for portraits. To Set the camera in aperture priority mode, with the opening to about f / 4. This will give a nice background blur. Moreover Q I bought some filters for the camera on ebay. These filters are softtone, speaker, vised. ACE brand. I took pictures with these filters and still cannot tell the difference, what I do wrong? or is the filter itself? AI personally own only two filters – a UV filter to protect the lens and a circular on poleriser bright sunny days. Everything else including the effects that you should get through your filters, can be reproduced with the image editing software. I suspect that the effects that the filters provide is too thin for the registration at a glance. If you did some test shots with / without filters, using a tripod, shooting the same subjects with the same settings camera, and then compared the results of a 100% magnification, you would be able to see some differences. As for the ACE brand, never heard of them … but Who made them, I expect the filters to work. On a side note, the cheap filters can actually degrade the image quality. And if the filters are not properly coated (never cheapies) can introduce flare and ghosting, as well. All sorts of bad things. These 2 filters that I use with me more than $ 70 each. That was for a Please massively expensive though, so I could rationalize spending addiction. Q I set my camera on some kind of setting to make these images look right? A Nope. The filters do not require special camera settings. Q Can I take pictures without the flash get this picture blurry. and appears even yellow. What can do to help this? A without the flash, the shutter speed becomes much slower. Any shot handheld get too nervous because of camera shake. Try use a tripod. Or, if your handheld, raises the ISO setting – the picture becomes a bit 'grainy as a result, but gritty beats more blurred. With regard to the yellow Haze, which is caused by shooting in artificial light. Adjust the white balance on the camera to correct the problem. Alternatively, as in the time of film cameras, you could use a special filter to compensate. Altenatively or, alternatively, you can correct the image after the fact with a software editing images. The white balance on your camera is by far the easyest option. Please forgive any spelling mistakes – it's late and all, and my answer is too long for Yahoo's built-in spell checker to work. Oh, and I'm not a professional. just an avid amateur with a D200 and a lot of free time.

Question: How to copy video clippings from my Sony Handycam DCR-TRV 27 to my computer ?
I need to copy my video clippings from Sony Handycam to Hard disk of my computer. which software i can download free which can help me in this?
Answer: If all you want is a free solution, Windows comes with a video editor, called Movie Maker. You can find it in your Start Menu, unless you’ve deleted the shortcut there. It actually is found in the Program Files folder, in the Movie Maker directory.
But if you don’t have a firewire port (also called an iLink interface by Sony) and a firewire cable, you can’t transfer the video anyway. Make sure when you buy the cable, that you buy one with a mini plug on one side (for the camera) and a standard plug on the other end (for the computer). That is typically what you need. Check to verify if that is what you need for your hardward, though.
Once you are connected and powered on, the computer will detect the camera, and you will be able to run Movie Maker and import your video, edit it, and output if too!
That is your cheapest solution, and it’s pretty good for newbies.
