Question: Are Macro lens’s the same as Telephoto Lens’s?
I see descriptions for lens’s like “Product Image
Sigma 50-500mm f/4-6.3 EX DG APO HSM Telephoto Zoom Lens for Nikon SLR Cameras ” and “Product Image
Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 DG Macro Telephoto Zoom Lens for Nikon SLR Cameras ”
One says “Telephoto” and One says “Macro Telephoto”. Since they are both telephoto what makes one macro? Will this also affect a what kind of wide angle lens I purchase?
By the way I have a Nikon D60
Answer: A telephoto is a lens that gives you a closer view (think telescope) than a normal lens would. The ones you are describing are zooms that have telephoto focal lengths in their range.
Macro is a feature (often exaggerated) that lets you focus on subjects closer than normal. This lets you take photos of subjects usually within a few feet of you and the camera.
The term “macro” and “micro” are interchangeable, but originally meant that you could focus close enough that the subject would be virtually the actual size on the 35mm film or digital sensor. True macro lenses give you an image on a 1 to 1 ratio, but that description has evolved to 1 to 2 or less in most cases.
FYI, the 70-300mm does not have an autofocus motor and won’t autofocus on your D60. But the APO 70-300mm F4-5.6 DG MACRO does.

Question: Sigma 70-200 and Nikon 80-200 which?Hey, can I get the Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 II EX DG APO Macro HSM for $ 650 Brand new or Nikkor 80-200mm f/2.8 ED AF-D for $ 900, you might get if the money was not a problem? I have the Sigma 24-70 and its great. I am also leaning towards the Sigma because I can ignore the AF. (which annoys me), however, I want the best possible image regardless of AF and costs. Thanks Chad Webb
Answer: Sigma is a great lens for the price, but if you can afford I would recommend an excellent Nikkor lens.

Question: Why are all my shots, no matter the lighting used, coming out with a blue/grey background??
I understand that having a blueish/grey tinge to the background can often mean the shot is under-exposed but this can’t be the case with my shots. They are all taken inside a room either with natural lighting (large window) or with 3 x lights on the subject (clothing). I also have a white backdrop. So what are some other reasons all my shots come out with this blue/grey wash??
Any suggestions would be great as it is driving me crazy!!!Answer: It could be you are not lighting the background enough … to be sure your white background stays white, you will have to give it about a + 1 to + 3 stops extra light using background lighting. You will have to experiment because the added background light is different when using white paper than it is when using a white painted background or white cloth.

Question: Photobooth new background? When I go to Photobooth and click the Effects button at the bottom of the screen they are 4 boxes. If I click on that 4, which leads me to a screen where I am in the center and they are 8 tiles around me. Each one is gray and in white letters it says "Drag the background here." When I go to Google images, I cannot drag something. How does it work? Oh, and by the way I have a MacBook.
Answer: You must have the background image you want to add saved on your first mac. EDIT: so if you want a background image from Google, you will have to drag the image to desktop or in some other folder first, then drag it into the cabin photos.
