I bought this camera backpack recently. However I noticed that it will not allow me to use my camera with the 70-300mm lens attached. it has space for a laptop and a few other stuff too.

I think it will allow me to only attach the 28-50 mm lens only. So this will mean that every time I want to use the longer lens I must either sport the camera outside the bag or attach the lens again at use time.

I am a hobbyist who just bought his first DSLR so I am not sure of the right thing….

It sure seems like there would be plenty of room for a long lens. Your camera and lens can’t possibly measure 18 inches, can it?

I have a much smaller bag, and my camera with a 18-200mm lens fits in it. I put the camera in the bottom with the lens sticking straight up towards the top of the bag.

If you don’t like the bag, I would send it back.
