Question: Should I switch from analog to digital LCD?

Should I switch from a S73 17″ Sony lcd analog to a digital lcd? Will it make a big difference? Will it be easier on the eyes?

Answer: generally yes, but there are a few more factors that go into picture clarity. If you switch to a digital monitor, and use a DVI connection, in theory you should notice an increase in picture quality. But, if your video card is garbage or if you mal-adjusted picture settings, then the difference might be minimal.

Question: How do I check my LCD monitor is digital or analog signal?

Recently changed my line of signal cable analog to digital I wanted to make sure my LCD monitor with digital works, how can I check? Where does it say that if the analog signal or digital?

Answer: If you connect a DVI (Digital Visual Interface), the cable into the DVI port on an LCD monitor, will be digital. (And plug the other end of the DVI cable, a DVI port on your computer. Only a dedicated graphics card has this port!) Why? Because computers tend to a digital signal. The signal must be converted to analog, a VGA monitor or a VGA connection on an LCD monitor. An LCD monitor is of course digital. 1.Computers put a digital signal (always) 2.Liquid Crystal Display monitors are digital. 3.To use a VGA monitor, which are delaying the signal from the computer. 4.To use a VGA port on an LCD monitor, which are delaying the signal from the computer. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Visual_Interface

Question: I have an old palmcorder….?

I have an old Palmcorder IQ. Panasonic model #PV-IQ503 that doesn’t show the picture through the viewfinder anymore. It records black and it plays back fine…but through the lens all I see is black. I can adjust the focus and the menu shows up so everything else works…any ides as to what this may be? And yes, I have the lens cap open…. I know some of you may say “buy a new one”, well, money is tight and I’d like to avoid that if at all possible. Any thoughts would be welcome.

Answer: i am amazed that you can still buy tape for this, a true antique, should be donated to a museum. since you can see the menu, go through all the settings. you might have a highspeed shutter on which would pass little light. you might have manual iris selected. you might have a special mode selected like “fade to black”. if you can’t find the problem in the menu, then its broke.
