Question: Should I get vibration suppression pads for my scope?

I have a Celestron CPC 1100 (11″) The whole setup is heavy. Seems to me that the vibration is in the tube, not in the tripod. So should I spend the extra $50?

Answer: I have an 11 inch Celestron that has the same tube as yours, but probably a different mount / tripod (mine is the old CI-700) and it is as solid as a rock. I don’t know what mount / tripod arrangement you have, but if it is one of the newer low cost versions, I suspect the problem is in the tripod. Vibration dampers for the feet will not solve this problem, unless there are minor earthquakes causing a forced response from the ground into the scope system. I suspect it is a simple resonant response with nodes at the ground. Putting dampers at the nodes does nothing to alter a resonant response. It will still vibrate, with dampers standing absolutely still while the whole scope shakes above it. I suspect that if the problem is severe, your only solution is to go with the CGE series mount. Sorry.

Question: What rucksack / backpack should I buy for my DSLR?

I need to buy a backpack for my DSLR. I only have 2 lenses at the moment and one is a telephoto lens (75-300mm) I also buy some external flash, which I'll need to store in the bag. I need space for other things must be preserved, such as books and notebooks and a light coat, etc. I initially looked at the Lowepro Fastpack 350 for ticks, more or less every window … except for the fact that you cannot have a tripod! someone can give me advice on what to buy, which would also hold a tripod? thank you very much

Answer: not a photographer, but if you get one that holds daysack has a cable to draw from the external environment, sticks or similar you can connect your tripod on the assumption that it is reducible or a tripod folding outwards.
