Question: difference between lenses for XTi (55mm vs. 100mm)?

What will the difference be between my 55mm lens versus 100mm. I need to shoot jewelry. I just bought the 65mm 2.8 macro, but I had to return it, it was WAY to close up. Can someone please explain why I should get the 100mm rather than use the 55 that I already own. Will it be better for Jewelry photography? (of course, I am using light tent, tripod…etc..) Question: How can a wire to a lamp light photography?

Needed for a light tent.

Answer: I want to go to save a blue photo flood from the camera and use over it. Or I would get a movie rated 3200K, Tungsten, and do without. Or, should I save to the camera and buy a filter that will get the whole thing and to compensate, about how to do.
