if i dont know the brand or anything about my usb card, how do i know which driver to install?

Answer: Just plug it in. Windows will pop up a window on the task bar saying “Found New Hardware”. It will then find and install the driver for the hardware. If there is a problem, it will guide you through it. When you plug it in, it should give you the brand of the device. When you want to remove the hardware, make sure you hit “safely remove hardware” icon on the taskbar, this will prevent files from being corrupted if it is a storage device.

Question: How do I unlock my USB card reader?

I have been day and night trying to obtain protection writing my SD card reader is internal. I am running vista home. I want to transfer photos from PC to SD card and when I did not say "write protect a disk chosen diffeent. Help before I go crazy on the computer !!!!!!!! Thanx!

Answer: The write protection lock is not on the reader's memory on the same. It's a little switch that you can enable or disable. All SD cards are equipped with this switch, but I suspect yours does.
