Question: What would cause the tip of my laptop power adapter to overheat?
OK so when i plug my power adapter into my laptop after a few minutes the metal tip of the end that is plugged into my laptop heats up and if i touch it it is almost hot enough to burn me, it even burned me once.
Answer: it’s probably a damaged conenctor, if it is not connecting with the pins in the laptop chargeing slot, the electric will spark to the pin. when electric sparks it creates a lot of heat (the cause of household electrical fires)
i’d suggest that you get the socket on the laptop looked at, because the spring inside has probably broken and needs the socket to be replaced. it’s unlikely to be the charger.

Question: repair work because if you used the wrong power adapter on an electronic instrument?I have an old Suzuki Omnichord (an electronic instrument) and has recently stopped working after mistakenly used the wrong type of food Adapter (everything was bad except he did). In very general terms, ease of repair work does it take to get him running again? I do not know much about electronics, but I'm hoping it will be as easy as it takes for a store, finding a fried isolated component, and switching it with a new one. What types of scenarios can occur when you plug a power adapter type incorrect in an electronic instrument?
Answer: I am not familiar with Ommichord Suzuki so I will answer in terms General. Rather plugging in the AC badly burned in power in the device, because the voltage is too high, the polarity of the voltage is wrong or you try to use an AC adapter output in a unit of dc or vice versa. The solution may be simple like a fuse inside that must be replaced (cheap) for frying the power supply ($$$). You may be fortunate and have only one or two components that are fried, but if the components can be identified or if they are obsolete parts no longer available on unit May not be repairable. The only way you'll know for sure is to keep the repair shop and hope for the best. Good luck!

Question: Is this Nikon Macro Lens worth it?
I know this person who is selling a Nikkor AF Macro Zoom lens that (as 9ar as I know) would work great for my Nikon D40.
The lens is in great condition and is still in box, I don’t know how old it is or if it is a horrible version of the Macro lenses.
The details I got off the box are:Nikkor
35-80mm
F/4-F/5.6 AF
Macro ZoomHe wants to sale it for $75 but I’m sure i cant get it lower than that with ease.. But is it worth it even at that cost? Please help if you can.
Thanks!
Answer: Not for the D40, since you are using the new D40, the lens will meter, but not autofocus. It requires a screwdrive which the D40 does not have (no internal motor on the lens) You need to look for AF-S lenses. (or Sigma HSM or Tamron IF)

Question: 105 millimeters macro to target better Nikon D80? Does not matter if its degree of AF?I just discovered that my Nikon D80 not able to autofocus using a macro lens 105 millimeters. This is a big problem, I have to go with a different objective macro or do most of people use manual focus, taking macro shots?
Answer: The 105 is a fine lens. I have one in my camera kit all the time, Old AIS is a lens not autofocus is not necessary that subjects using a macro lens to do not move that much and manual focus will give the maximum control over the situation that needs to photograph. Good Luck and enjoy
