I just recieved my camera, but didnt realise I needed a compact flashcard. I have a couple of 4gb Sandisk Extreme III memory sticks, can i not just use that on its own, do i need a flashcard?

and what is a flashcard? is it a memort stick as well, or is it simply a piece of plastic that houses the memory stick, do i need a memory stick or just a flash card???

Answer: What you need is a Compact Flash card. You do not need any additional adapters, you will not use any cards you have now.

Buy one of these and it goes straight into the Compact Flash slot of the A350.

10.2 megapixel camera If you want more its a SanDisk Extreme III. And the camera is a d80. No RAW, JPEG, the average quality of 10 GB of memory?, Is a 2GB memory stick Dumba **! How many photos??

Question: What is the best 35mm negative/slide scanner under $900, especially for scanning old, faded color slides?

I need a 35mm film scanner to scan hundreds of 40+ yr old color slides for archival purposes. I’m using a Mac Mini which has USB 2.0 and Firewire. I don’t know what all is on the market at this time, and am looking for the best quality performance within my price range. Ideally, the cost would be closer to $500-600.

Answer: I would concur that the Epson 4490 is a great scanner, as I own one myself and am a professional. However, if I were to buy a scanner now I would really consider the Epson perfection v700 with its dual lens and higher Dmax which should make the images more sharp, but seriously you probably would be better off with the 4490, however don’t use the digital ice feature in the software which removes dust, it makes the image a tad less sharp, and always use the manual scanning mode, as there are some bugs in the interface (used to work part time for 5 years as a level 2 Epson technical support, trust me I know about these issues.)

Question: I want to buy a "real" cheap pocket size scanner to scan 35mm film negatives.Where can I find one?

I just want to scan 35 mm negatives and the motto is "cheap". Not a scanner.Just flat slide in / slide thing as type.some reader card. Please tell me Marks & prices. Answer: I do not think if theres a mini scanner on the market? " or maybe there is one, I have never heard. However, my best idea is, why do not you use your digital camera with a microphone mode? the quality is pretty impressive too!
