Question: How can I get my digital camera to take better pictures??? I tried everything …?

I took photography in college but used a 35mm and did my own developing but that was 7 years ago – I am capable of taking really awesome pictures – but I’m new to this whole digital thing and everytime I take a photo its looks great on my camera’s screen but when I upload it to the computer it looks all grainy or dark, or out of focus or just not sharp- I try to use the editing tools and change the photo but they still come out looking grainy and when I print them on photo paper they still look like poor quality. Could it be I have a crappy digital camera ( only some pictures have come out perfect) or am I doing something wrong -Are there different rules in taking good digital pictures than of those with 35mm
-If I do have a bad camera (Hyundai 5.0 megapixel w/zoom & video) – are there any gadgets or anything I can buy to attatch to my lens to make the pictures more crisp and have better clarity – or should I just get a better camera -the one I have was a present from my Fiance.

Answer: I find the ISO setting in digital cameras very useful. The ISO setting is essentially the way the camera controls it’s sensitivity to light. If you’re taking a photo of a still object, like a flower, then always use a low ISO setting. It allows for a longer shutter speed and produces a cleaner image. If you’re shooting a moving object, like a baby playing with a toy, then a higher ISO setting of say 400 would be better. Do take note, however, that a higher ISO setting gives a faster shutter speed and requires less light.

Hope that has helped a little x

Question: I purchased a polarizing filter. What size do I need?

18-55 and 200 (my zoom lens) Both Nikon. We're going deep sea fishing and I heard that you can look directly into the water with you. Any good brands out there? I get from BH Photo Video. Here is a link but I do not know what size to buy. How do I know about the site without having to bother you guys on Yahoo Answers? http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?Ntt=polarizing+filter&N=0&InitialSearch=yes

Answer: Well, Nikon is known for having always used a filter size of 52mm, then try one of these, is about 99% certain it will fit!

Question: Can i bring my Canon 50d DSLR to Germany? With Lufthansa?

I have a Lowepro Flipside 300 with a Canon 50d inside and a 28-135mm kit lens. I am flying to Germany, and I was wondering if anyone can clarify or find new regulations on camera bags for CARRY ON, or if you had an experience with Lufthansa or other international flights. This will be my first time travelling with it, so general tips are welcome. What should i do with batteries and memory cards?
and lenses… some people have said to detach lenses or to remove batteries?

Answer: I’ve flown many times and always carry my camera gear onboard (large DSLRs plus lenses).
They have no problems with it, and it has never hurt the memory cards or anything else.
Enjoy your trip (I’m going to Germany, too, in July :-)

Question: Who makes a better camera bag: Lowepro, couscous or Zeikos?

I looked at the Lowepro Slingshot 200 and the 300 but Flipside Cuscus Zeikos do the same and cases for half the price. However, I do not want to end up with a cheap bag that collapses on me after 3 months. I have a Canon Rebel, and eventually have more lenses too. So I want a solid bag to keep it all in, but do not want to blow a lot of money neither. Thank you for your help.

Answer: I would say that Lowepro is the best known brand, but not necessarily the best. The Couscous bags and can keep your Zeikos rebels. But if you're going to do a lot of lenses, I suggest you look bagpacker camera.
