Question: How prevalaent is the sale of bootleg DVD’s on eBay? Can they make them look like original DVDs?

Is there anyway to tell a bootleg from an original if the DVD has all seals of a real DVD’s? I have recently bought a couple of movies and the strange thing about them is their covers are flexible as a rubber. The DVD’s had all standard security seals. However, the actual DVD’s did not have movie titles on them as picture, instead they were silver in color from thrir tops which were engraved with movie titles, company name logo etc. and copyright notice. Am I right to suspect against those DVD’s or they just made them that way? Yes, the sellers were located in USA.
