Question: Difference between telephoto and wide angle?

What is the difference between a telephoto lens and a wide angle lens. sounds like a stupid question but for some reason I am confused.

Answer: Telephoto is your typical zoom lens, that telescopes out. It’s for zooming close to things far away, (Nikkor 55-200mm Nikkor AF-S VR)

Wide Angle is less zoom, though some Wide angles have some zoom capabilites. (Nikkor 18-55mm AF-S VR)

Telephoto is to zoom in on far away objects, Wide Angle fits more into the frame. A telephoto might only get half a mountain range in the photo, but you can get very close to it. A wide angle can fit the whole mountain range, but wont get as close.

I found a great site that contains information about each type of lens (wide angle, normal, telephoto), and which are used to. I forgot to take note of the website and can not find it again. Does anyone know of other sites with that kind of information because I do not know what type of lens I want.

Question: Is there a Mac software out there that fixes corrupted PSD/Photoshop CS4 files?

I was working on a design and I save periodically. Well my computer froze. So I rebooted. Unfortunately CS4 was open and so was my file. Once my computer turned back on and I tried to open my psd file, it said “could not complete because an unexpected end of file was encountered.

Answer: not that I am aware of, you should try generational saving, I know too late for that now. But I always use generational saving, for this reason. IE v.001, v.002, you get the idea. There maybe a file that is the temp file for the actual file. I work in windows, but use indesign a lot, daily. I have yet to have an epic fail like this one, but I know that the windows version uses temp files, I have had to delete them in mass for hogging up my resources.

I always start the day with a fresh numerical save of my projects. Little lessons we learn along the way.

Question: How do I open PDD or PSD file? The photos are created in Adobe Photoshop on my old computer.

My old computer has registered copies of Photoshop and PhotoDeluxe. My new computer does not have these programs, but the photo files were transferred to my new team. How do I open these files photos without spending hundreds of dollars in software?
