Question: What is the difference between the unibody macbook and the pre unibody macbook??

I am looking at buy an incase Hard Shell case on ebay. I have the macbook .....not the newest one but the one before that. I got it last year for Christmas. I know the newer macbook has a circle camera my computer has a square camera. Do I have the unibody

or the pre unibody

thanks in advance .

Answer: First of all, the Incase Hard Shell cases are the best on the market. I am using one right now and I absolutely love it to death except for the fact that IT DOES add some significant weight to the machine and it can be slightly hard to put on and take off. Anyway, I highly recommend not buying the case on eBay because often those cases are old stock from the company and/or they are discontinued versions on the plastics which might not fit properly on the machine they state it is for. Incase is a fast-paced company as Apple is because there are always new models coming out as you already know. Here is how to determine what you have:

#1 - Anything "unibody" will have all black keys and no trackpad button as the new unibody design introduced the single button trackpad.

#2 - If you have the white MacBook, it is 100% NOT unibody because they just released a white unibody and you said you got yours last Christmas.

#3 - If you have a silver MacBook with silver keys, it is 100% NOT unibody.

Finally, ALL unibody machines have physical NO magnetic latch. ALL unibody machines will have the circular cameras. A square camera clearly indicates you have a pre-unibody model.

Question: Is there a case that I can put my video camera to film snowboarding?

I'm getting an HG20 soon and want to know if there is any kind of shell or if I can put my camera in time that allows me to film.

Answer: You need to download and read the camera manual before you buy. http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=SupportDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=269&modelid=17382 # DownloadDetailAct Like a hard disk drive camcorder from bumps and jolts the ski can cause the video camera to stop recording. This is a common problem with all hard drive-based camcorders, not just the HG20. The drop sensor also monitors the vibration and shaking hard. You can drop off the sensor, but then we run the risk of actually crashing the hard drive head in the dish and turn that video camera in the trash. View warnings on page 8 and 99. We do not know where skiing. High will cause the hard disk goes to park - low air pressure is bad for hard drives. See page 9 of the warning. flash memory-based camcorders miniDV tape and these vibrations are not known problems of altitude. All electronic devices have a temperature Operating range - in this case, including battery. See page 129 for operating ranges termperature HG20. The battery should be kept hot for to work. Using a washcloth Polar PortaBrace is strongly suggested. You have a couple of options ... 1) Use a hard case normally used for underwater video capture. They are expensive. This is probably the best method of protection, but the cases are large and bulky. Some kind of warmer climates will require so the battery is kept in operation. 2) Use a Softcase (such as Ewa-Marine). A species from warmer climates will be required for the battery keep running. 3) A video camera based on hard disk is a bad idea due to vibration and altitude known issues. Flash memory or MiniDV tapes are better alternatives - even with these, a kind of warmth will be needed to keep the battery working. Alternatives to the Canon HV30 and the HF10 is much more desirable. Personally, I take the HV30 on any of them because of the storage means miniDV tape.
